. Introduction
These Terms & Conditions apply to all services provided by Direct Joiners Ltd (“the Company”, “we”, “our”, or “us”). By accepting a quotation, estimate, invoice, or engaging our services, you agree to the terms outlined below.
2. Quotations & Estimates
All quotations are valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated. Quotes are based on the information available at the time and may be subject to change if additional work, materials, or unforeseen circumstances arise.
Estimates are provided as a guide only and may vary depending on the final scope of works.
3. Deposits & Payments
A deposit may be required before work commences. Remaining balances are payable in accordance with the agreed payment schedule or immediately upon completion of works unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Late payments may result in delays, suspension of works, or additional charges.
Direct Joiners Ltd reserves the right to charge statutory interest and recovery costs on overdue invoices in accordance with UK legislation.
4. Materials & Product Availability
Where materials, fixtures, or specialist products are required, availability and lead times may vary. We are not responsible for delays caused by suppliers, manufacturers, or circumstances outside of our control.
Materials supplied remain the property of Direct Joiners Ltd until full payment has been received.
5. Access & Site Conditions
The customer is responsible for ensuring safe and reasonable access to the property and work areas during agreed working hours.
We reserve the right to pause or delay works where:
unsafe conditions are identified
asbestos or hazardous materials are suspected
access is restricted
unforeseen structural issues arise
Any additional work required due to unforeseen site conditions may be chargeable.
6. Changes To Scope Of Work
Any requested changes, additions, or alterations to the agreed scope of works may result in additional costs and revised timelines.
All variations should be agreed in writing before additional work proceeds.
7. Completion Times
Estimated completion dates are provided in good faith but are not guaranteed. Delays caused by weather, supplier issues, third parties, or circumstances outside our control shall not make Direct Joiners Ltd liable for compensation or losses.
8. Customer Responsibilities
Customers are responsible for:
removing valuable or fragile items from work areas
ensuring utilities are available where required
obtaining permissions, approvals, or consents where necessary unless otherwise agreed
9. Guarantees & Workmanship
Direct Joiners Ltd aims to deliver all work to a professional standard using appropriate materials and workmanship.
Any concerns relating to completed works must be reported within a reasonable timeframe. We will investigate and, where appropriate, rectify genuine workmanship issues.
Guarantees do not cover:
general wear and tear
misuse or neglect
damage caused by third parties
movement or defects in existing structures
10. Cancellation
Where applicable, customers may have cancellation rights under UK consumer legislation.
If works are cancelled after materials have been ordered or work has commenced, Direct Joiners Ltd reserves the right to recover reasonable costs incurred.
11. Liability
Direct Joiners Ltd shall not be liable for:
indirect or consequential losses
delays outside our control
pre-existing defects or hidden structural issues
damage resulting from undisclosed site conditions
Our total liability shall not exceed the value of the works undertaken.
12. Photography & Marketing
We may photograph completed works for portfolio, website, or marketing purposes unless the customer requests otherwise in writing.
No personal information or property details will be disclosed without consent.
13. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Scotland. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.
